Bill Lesher, a lobbyist and consultant with Lesher, Russell & Barron, previously served as a staffer for the Senate Agriculture Committee and as a staffer for Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN) before being named as the assistant secretary for economics in the Department of Agriculture during the Reagan administration.[1] Recent clients include Altria (the parent company of Philip Morris), the International Dairy Foods Association, Monsanto and Kraft Foods.[2]
